• Data reflects separations over a one-year period as defined in the Technical Notes.

Geographic Assignment

• Exits are attributed to locations based on the individual’s post-service address.

Occupation Mapping

• Military occupations are linked to civilian SOC codes using a Military Occupation Code (MOC) to SOC crosswalk from O*NET.
• Not all military roles can be translated. Unclassified records appear as:
  • SOC 55 for military occupations
  • SOC 99-9999 for unknown occupations

• Past military exit trends are accessible via the Data Fetch analytic .
